After being in the Fitness Industry for over a decade, my training partner at the time introduced me to Pole Dancing. We started teaching ourselves. Due to circumstances she could not continue unfortunately. I managed to eventually get into contact with the rest of the Pole Community in South Africa and started attending as many workshops and Pole Camps as I could. I have had the privilege of training with some of the best dancers in the industry, both on the national and international front.
Pole Dancing has been one of the best things I’ve incorporated into my life. To me, Poling (and any of the aerial arts we offer) is very much about women empowerment.
Pole Dancing empowers women to realise their inner and outer strength, empowers them to do more of what fulfills them, to care a little less about what others think, and to help them feel sexy and confident in their own skin.
Interestingly enough this had exactly the same affect on the men that joined our classes.
I have had the pleasure of training women (and one or two men) from all walks of life, all shapes, all sizes and all fitness levels. No matter their reason for trying pole dancing (or any of the aerial arts for that matter) for the first time, their initial reaction to what they can or can not do on the pole etc or the way they initially feel about themselves, each and every one of them progress. Progress in their self- esteem, their can-do attitude as well as in their aerial arts of choice.
I love seeing how each person progresses at their own pace, in their own way and the confidence it builds in each and everyone.
As i am a firm believer in always challenging yourself i recently started trying out new forms of Aerial Arts and have fallen in love with Lyra & Lollipop. We are proud to have added Lyra, Silks and Chair dancing to our schedule.
The great thing about Aerial Arts is that you can do it from a fitness, dance, sensual or all of the above aspect. I have personally always focused on the fitness side of things as that is my background. Recently however i have started working more on the flow and sensual side of Pole. As much as this is out of my comfort zone, I am absolutely loving it.
I love the Aerial Community. It is a place where everyone builds each other up and it is a judgement free zone. In life everyone has strengths and weaknesses. The same is true in Aerial Arts. You build on your strengths and work on your weaknesses. Making one or all of the Aerial Arts yours will allow you to dance your style even while you continue to explore new styles.
You never stop learning and you never stop progressing.
So try out one of our classes. You have nothing to lose and so much to gain.
Artemis is the protector of women and nature and although all those at Artemis Aerial Arts are goddesses and gods, Artemis has sought the assistance of like minded Goddesses to guide, inspire and motivate the rest of the of the goddesses and gods.
Let's meet them...
With over 2 decades experience in the fitness industry I found my ultimate passion in Pole Dancing about 13 years ago. Combining my love of Pole and my passion for Women's Empowerment as well as showing Men that this is something for them as well, I endeavour to create a safe and non-judgemental environment where anyone can feel confident and comfortable.
I have also trained as a kickboxer under SKA for over 10 years, and as a blackbelt sempai, I am able to give personal kickboxing lessons in the SKA syllabus. I firmly believe that keeping mobile and flexibile gives you longevity and makes every day movement more practical. So join me in our flexibility, pole, sensual, chair & lyra classes.
ASTERIA derives huge pleasure in empowering you and sharing her love of pole dancing with you. Having been a student herself in this art form for a few years already, as well as being part of the Reigning Goddesses for the last couple of years, she is well equipped to give you all the finer tips and techniques to make steady progress whilst having a blast.
MORRIGAN’S passion lies in wrapping herself up in the flowiness of silks, despite being trained in lyra and pole as well. Using her strength and previous gymnastic knowledge to guide you and your body safely thru the more advanced techniques of this very challenging but beautiful aerial art.
GAIA lives for embolding you and making you feel worthy and confident while teaching you to accept your goddess vibes. With her sensual, strong and smooth moves around the pole or on the floor, she will guide you to find your inner goddess.
Pole Dancing is for everyone and anyone.
It is a fun way to build self-confidence, strength, flexiblility, agility and a toned body.
All ages, shapes & fitness levels welcome.
Do something different and challenge yourself while honing either your fitness, sexiness or both.
Dancing, creating shapes and flowing on 2 pieces of soft material takes strength, skill and passion. Join our level 1 classes to learn all the basic techniques and work your way up to the more advanced options. Let us share our passion for this absolutely beautiful and graceful art form.
Who knew moving on a suspended steel circle could be this much fun. Creating shapes on the bottom, side and top bars while increasing your strength and flexibility. This really is such a fun class to attend with various levels to make sure you learn and progress safely.
Open to all levels. No experience needed. This form of movement and dancing can be both sensual or acrobatic. We will learn new routines over a course of 2 to 4 weeks, while working on techniques and flexibility.
These classes can be done barefoot or in pleasers. Dressing up to the theme of the class is optional but oh so much fun.
Get in touch with your sensuality in a safe, non-judgemental and safe environment. Often viewed as the "easier" form of aerial dancing, sensual classes are deceptively strength, endurance and mobility orientated. No experience needed at Level 1.
